Quick question - I'm proposing a little design challenge to my middle schoolers over spring break - to build a better crab/shrimp hitchhiker trap to catch non-reef safe beasts that will come in on our Tampa Bay live rock after break.
Anything besides metal that I should prohibit? Anybody know if PLA plastic is okay? Any glue restrictions I should know about?
Thanks in advance.

My guess is PLA should be fine, it's a carbon based plastic... as far as glue goes I'd say plain super glue should be fine. Other than that I'd worry about how the plastic was manufacture, are you 3D Printing? otherwise I'd clean it if you're getting sheets of the stuff. It would be fun for kids to catch bristle worms, might not have them right away though.

I was advised against using PLA in aquaria. Not sure of the reason, I'll ask my modeler.
