Been a bit since I updated the journals. The frag tank has been up and running since mid October 2021. Pretty happy with the transition after the move. A few losses but nothing that is end of the world (knock on wood).

Here are some of the frags waiting to make it to the new tank.

Been a bit since an update.

Changes

- took all for reef off the system. Replaced with kalk.
-ph now runs 8.4-8.8, system is currently fishless.
- I believe all for reef was the culprit for some frag STN. Since I switched, STN halted.

Few pictures. Really happy with the growth since the change and PE. The frags that had STN are showing signs of recovery.

Having a weird issue with polyps not coloring up, but the body of the acros are vibrant. Isolated to just tenuis currently. Other than that growth and colors are going well. Blues and pinks have been very vibrant lately.

Brown polyps have been really apparent in the WD.

Another tenuis with brown polyps.

Pretty happy with the stability. Knock on wood that doesn’t change. Everytime I write or say this sentence something freaking breaks.

DKH moves about .13-.17 a day and PH runs 8.32-8.72. Disregard the calibration around the 19th, it skews the swing a little bit.

Only issue I’m having is keeping enough nitrates in the system. Currently dosing 14mls of neonitro daily. I would like PO4 to run a tad lower, but I’m not making any changes unless the corals tell me otherwise.

Nothing crazy been going on in the Frag tank. Changed the T5 coral plus bulbs to actinic, to potentially solve the brown polyp issue that has plagued me for close to a year. I haven’t been able to determine that cause and it’s not all coral. No changes to nutrients or the big three since the last post. PH is running a tad lower at 8.2-8.62 than normal.

You can easily pick the brown polyps out from the below.
