Our mission

The Steinhart Aquarium - Academy of Science

Missed a zero on your number there :D

But yeah it's neat, I haven't been in a while, they seem to have new feeding methods where as before it was a lot of "big fish get all the food" situation.

Although I do wonder how you do a census on a 1500-2500 fish :D

Counting fish? Take pictures and use photo editor!

It's on the Steinhart website.

I was disappointed Rich didn't have on the mad scientist outfit! :)

Ok that doesn't sound neither fun nor tedious compared to what I imagined... corralling fish into one corner of the tank as you count them one by one... :D

I used to count cows. This is not a joke, I really did count cows!

Ranchers would ALWAYS say, "count the legs and divide by four".

Sorry you got me going with 'corralling'...

At a depth of 25 feet and holding 212,000 gallons of water, the Philippine Coral Reef is one of the deepest exhibits of live corals in the world.

If it makes you feel any better the behind the scenes tours never got us walking above the tank like in the video, more based upon what I'm guessing is the next part of his video where we see the "behind the scenes" parts, including the pump room which I probably lost 10% of my hearing in :D
