Our mission

The_Lazy_Reefer 150

Well I got started at 8am, drove to Kessil in Richmond to grab a couple items and been at it since. All livestock is officially transferred and filtration/heaters are hooked up and running! No leaks, no back siphon (drilled 1/8” holes) and I’m officially tired so I’ll be taking a break then cleaning up my huge mess, drain 40 breeder and once all clean I’ll get the 150 lit up. Whew reefing can be a chore at times.

Final thing to hook up is the apex. It’s a super old unit so all I have it do is monitor PH and Temp as it’s definitely had some connectivity issues I’d rather not deal with if I had everything hooked up.

That’s a tiny sump for a 150g
It’s true, all rated for 125 gallons. Going to see how it does as it’s just a place for a fuge and skimmer. Flow is 5x tank volume so we should be good as long as I don’t blast the tank with food though on my 40 breeder I could just dump in food and with the combo of the fuge/skimmer/algae scrubber I had to dose nutrients every now and again and never changed the water since day 1. Thinking I can handle a few extra gallons haha

Well everything’s settled in and the nems are becoming more open. The yellow tang is beyond pleased to have this much room and I’m finally happy to get her out of the 40 breeder as this is by far a better forever home.
