The_Lazy_Reefers 108 gallon sps dominant mixed reef

Tank is in the house! The hard part is officially over now it’s just time to get ready for a massive tank move. I snagged @MarAquatic 80 gallon to help me with this process as having a free cycled tank will make any mishaps more manageable when it comes time to swap everything over and then I also get a cool new growout system so that’s a win win.

That’s a tiny sump for 100g tank.. and 80g is maraqua’s tank?
Yea the 80 was his, he’s moving to Hawaii so I snagged it. 30 gallon sump for 100 gallon isn’t bad imo, it could definitely be bigger but my fiancé and myself as well will be stoked to finally have space under the tank for dosing pumps and whatnot as my current setup is all built out on the sides.

Well the new sump is here. I went with a trigger sapphire 39 which is about the biggest sump I could fit while still fitting my dosing/testing setup under the cabinet. At this point I guess I’m a trigger sump guy as it’s all I ever seem to buy and I’m super impressed with them every time. The bigger sump made things a little tighter than I planned but should work out fine in then end and now I’ll have this massive awesome sump!’

Well I finished the plumbing today besides the return. I’ll be doing a bean animal as that what I currently have and I really enjoy how silent it is running 1200 gph. Also hooked up some led light bars and I have no idea why I haven’t done this sooner.

Almost finished! Just need to figure out the UV mounting and build a platform for the GHL gear. It will be so nice to not have a built out reef on the sides and have everything contained underneath.

Ok so the garage tank officially finished it’s last batch of ammonia yesterday and I decided it was time to cram the whole 75 into there. Everything seems to have gone well and man is it cramped in the garage holding tank but if all goes well I should be able to complete the transfer back into the new tank on Saturday.

I finally finished the transfers! Whew ……was that fun/stressful. Had some power issues in the garage that exacerbated my bandwidth at times but in the end everything is done with only 2 small frags lost so I’m calling it a win. I’m super excited to finally have room for more sps! @jhuynh I may be needing a frag pack in a month once I’m confident in the new system :)
