Torch dropped bunch of polyps - can this reattach?

Realized a bit too late some brutal coral warfare between some hammers and torches and one of the torches dropped a bunch of polyps.

Should I put this in a mushroom box and let it reattach to a frag plug? Or is this not worth it or likely to survive?

Are you sure it’s coral warfare? It might be worth it to isolate and Monitor for BJD. Better safe than sorry. Also I see some flat worms so it might also be causing that. Dip?

Yes, the hammer next to it extended their tentactles threefold+ for the past 3 days or more to just reach this head and the one next to it, the others are fine and have more flatworms/they all have for 6 months or so already. I have not found a good solution for it yet, but the population does not grow.

nothing to loose leaving the baled out head in a mushroom cage they look like cool baby bubble tips.. Ive had a few in the past do the same thing but unfortunately they only lasted about a month in half. Other reefers have had success growing new skeleton base.

I see flatworms
Remove from tank a dip
FW dip will cause them to drop off
I see at least 4….
That means there are many more!

There are - but again, I do not know how to eradicate them. All LPS have them. When I went down the flatworm eradication rabbit hole, it looked like it was better to manage them vs adding stuff int the tank. All LPS have ben dipped multiple times, but they also sit on some mushrooms etc.

My dragonette gets bigger and bigger, and the melanurus wrasse might eat them too. But not enough fish power to get rid of all of them.

herpes...
if at all possible
in a brute can, maybe 22gal or better 32 gal full freshwater (drinking level quality, not purified)
dip the entire rock
do it like every few days for a couple weeks will definitely reduce the population
submerge n shake then return to tank
even better to have 2 fw dip cans and then a sw rinse then return to tank

All of my rocks are covered in coral. So this will not work, unfortunately.

What are you using to dip? Those kind of flatworms will disintegrate via a KCl dip. For all euphilia I add to my tank I use one of those electric dental tartar removers and run on every hard surface. Any pest eggs get removed.

Unfortunately, this is a legacy issue from a time when I was not very familiar with proper dipping and inspection protocols. I dare to say it would not happen anymore these days.
