Tunze wave box? Yes or No

I’ve been contemplating getting one for the 220. I want to add more water movement, but don’t want more power heads in the tank. Currently have two Neptune waves and two flared return nozzles.

Anyone currently using one?
Pros and cons?
Is there something else I should look into?

Thx!

It’s not silent and I would not call it quiet either. It’s the loudest piece of equipment I have. It’s big. 2 big blue trim magnets to hold it on one of my side viewing panels.

I love it. I chose to block one of my tank returns to place it where I wanted in the back corner. Water pulses in places that would otherwise probably be dead’s spots (between rocks where wave makers are not hitting). My tank is not very long so I don’t get quite the standing wave a longer tank would get. My wave rotates clockwise with some help from other wave makers. Tunze says “averages 10 watts”. I’m not sure what exactly that means but it seems like a very low number.

Did I mention they aren’t quiet…

Any chance you could do a video?

You can get the same action of a wave box with a jebao wave maker. I ran a tunze wave box when they first came out in 2000. It’s hard on the aquarium long term. IMO.
Gotcha i will look into those.
By hard on the aquarium, are you saying the wave puts additional stress on the seams of a glass aquarium? My tank is full 3/4 acrylic. Built like a tank

Eh. I don’t know how to post a video. As I don’t have a YouTube account
It should be easy if you have a google account. Sign into youtube with your google account, click your pfp in the top right corner, and create a channel

There are other options available as well to share video

I hope google photos will allow videos to be posted on this forum as well
