Tunze Stream Rock for a peninsula?

Running opposing pumps on two ends of a tank seems to be a great way to create varied turbulent flow for SPS, but in a peninsula setup, I'm not sure how I can really achieve that without bouncing a massive amount of flow off the far end while having all pumps on one end.

I was thinking of using two Tunze Streams and Stream Rocks and burying the cables under the sand all the way to corner overflow (ELOS quietdrain is in one corner).

Maintenance on them might be a bit more difficult, but I'll have minimal rockwork, so it'll just be a bit of sand flinging.

Has anyone done this before? Any thoughts?

The cords are not that long, and splicing in a properly waterproof extension might no be so easy.

Perhaps a pipe instead.
The powerhead would be on the back solid end wall but pointed down into a big 1.5" pipe.
That pipe goes down the back, then forward under the rockwork to the front end of the tank.
It acts a lot like a closed loop system, but with the effciency of a powerhead.
Easy to clean powerhead.

That's a good point @rygh on the cable length, but I think with the cable length being 78.7”, it could work for my setup. I would have it run about 36" under sand, then 20" up the overflow, then it's out of the water and I could use a regular extension chord to get it the rest of the way to the outlet, with 22" to spare. To be honest, not really sure how badly I'd really need this. I will have two Maxspect Gyre XF350's mounted vertically going down the sides of the tank. With a random flow, I'm guessing it *could* create the right amount of turbulence needed throughout the tank.

Your dual back-wall gyre idea is what a lot of people do and works well for this. I wouldn’t mess with burying pump cables throughout the tank.

Right on.

I think I'll just stick with this for now. And once the actual tank is setup, I'll be able to tell where I need to fill in some holes.

I'd never bury anything. I'd just bite the bullet and put a mp40 or mp60 on that far wall if it's sps heavy.

Maybe run the cord to the dry side through a small hole in the stand near the base of the tank to keep it as clean looking as possible.

This does make the most sense, but I'm going to prioritize no pumps on that wall for this build. I'm going to try to see if I can get the right flow without.

I'm most likely going to stick with the two gyres, but I may not point them straight down the tank, and will have them bounce off the sides of the tank somewhere in the middle. I'll play around with that a bit.
