What size pump is that do you need to dial it down to get proper use out of the uv?

The “proper flow rate” is up for debate. I was surprised to see a lot of discussion of BAR folks running much lower flow than what i read in Aqua UV’s manual (link below). Yet they had no issue, apparently.

For my 25W I thought I needed to hit between 1200 and 800 gph.

I picked up a 1,000 gph and it’s working at 500. I’m sticking with it and see no evidence of overdoing it.

What if your pump dies and no water gets into the UV tube, won’t that cook your UV light?

Apex helps prevent that.

It should be off whenever the pump is off - and the pump should have power usage protection by Apex as well. Also, I plumbed mine with the water inlets and outlets pointing slightly up, which means it’ll have some water in it even if the pump fails - to cool off the lamp until the Apex shuts it off
