I bounce between quite a few hobbies depending on my time and mood. Right now, I’m really into online games, especially since I can fit a quick session between busy days. Cooking is something I picked up recently, nothing fancy but I love making spicy dishes and experimenting with street food recipes I find online. My other big one is camping, but it’s become less frequent since parenthood caught up with me. I find myself exploring new platforms sometimes, especially those tied to tradition but made modern, like iSabong Asia, where they’ve pretty much digitized a whole part of culture and it’s surprisingly interactive even for someone not super familiar with the sport.

This is pretty much my only legitimate active hobby at current. I use to be into camping, fishing hiking in the Redwoods etc. Yet I haven't done any of those things in 5years at this point. Cooking use to be on the list but doing it for a living Cooking for casual enjoyment having to work or attend a meeting the next say isn’t very fun lol.

I work, I have Mason meetings, I'm a leader at my church. And there is bar. So not much free time between all this stuff.

I will however listen to audiobooks while working, or doing reefing stuff. I barely watch any tv unless it's a reefing video.

We're all here because of one shared hobby, but I'm curious what other hobbies everyone has!

My major ones:

  • Cooking: food is tasty. I love trying, and making, new things. I also made friends with a local champion barbecuer, so I'll be focusing on upping my grilling and smoking game.
  • Baking: savory baking, mainly. Meat pies are some of the best things ever, fresh bread is delicious, and I want to learn the science behind it better.
  • Homebrewing: I did all-grain brewing for a few years, and am looking forward to getting back into it. Maybe I'll make a club batch if we're ever able to do a post-COVID club get-together.
did you ever start the home brewing? I have hens and was going to go to the local breweries to see if they would give me their used grains to feed the ladies

As in Freemasonry?

My dad did that for his garden several times.

There's currently a shift in livestock feed for something similar sugar beets. C & H closed their last CA plant, and they sold all that byproduct cheaply to the livestock feed companies. That source is now gone.

That's pretty cool. My friends dad was a mason in Soquel. It always peaked my interest :)

They just did a face lift of the Soquel chapter with a really nice mural.
If you ever wanna jump down the rabbit hole reach out to a lodge near you to visit and ask for a petition (application)
