got ethical husbandry?

When do you feed?

With the vast differences in corals the we all have in our tanks and all their different needs, WHEN is the best time to feed? And should you feed in the dark? And how long after dark should you feed?

For target feeding, usually about 1/2 to 1 hr. after lights go out which is when the tentacles come out of corals that feed that way. If I don't want to wait, then I turn off flow and wait 15 minutes and feed those that have their tentacles out. I'm sure a lot of the fish food gets eaten by corals too, and my fish aren't fed at any set time.

I probably target feed my LPS twice a week at night (PE mysis) about 1 hour after lights out because most have their feeders out and the fish usually leave it alone. Still have to deal with the crabs being the occasional thiefs though.

For my SPS I add a little Oyster feast and Rotifeast (shameless Reef nutrition plug) maybe 3 times a week at random times.

Fish, I usually do daily or every other day around 7 or so. I mix it up between pellets, arctipods, mysis and brine as well as put in a piece of Nori on a clip a couple of times a week for the tangs and foxfaces.

I tend to feed at night and rarely in the morning. If I have them all, then oyster/roti/phyto/pods from RN. Sometimes cyclopeeze and sometimes mysis. Just fed the tanks the ladder two a moment ago.

I prefer Robo-feast, Peter Weller approved :D

I feed in the morning and the evening, in the morning I feed Oyster feast and Arctipods. In the evening I feed Rotis, Arctipods, Oyster feast, and dose Phyto into my remote live rock tank that has a low turnover, that way it bleeds into my system slowly. I also feed my fish pellets in the evening, my tank gets lots of food (and skimmer cup empties and water changes too ;D).
