Our mission

William's 20 gallon Invert Reef tank

These get over two feet long and bulldoze everything in the sand, not a good critter to keep in a nano.
Woo I remember petting those at the Exploratorium back in the early 80's when it was at the Palace of fine arts one of my favorite exhibits!.. Funy how their not even crabs and related more to spiders then true crabs/lobsters especially with 10 eyes eek!
May want to add another 3 inches of sand to make it comfortable also feed it well clams/shrimp/squids or it may eat your snails/ crustaceans and your Maxima Clam if it gets too hungry fyi..
With the extra ditritis the sponge filter may need some help from your pics I don't see other filtration?
At least the price for their sky blue blood has dropped down considerably to only 4,000 a liter if you find a sale..
Best of luck with the spider!

A couple weeks ago I added a

Yellow Octospawn
Mummy-eye chalice
Chilipepper Monti
Unknown Purple and White striped LPS coral
and a small Tyree Toadstool

From the CFM I added
a big RBTA with green and blue hues
a Dragon soul torch
a dragon soul favia
a unknown rainbow encrusting montipora with purple dots.
a frag of Firework cloves
I also got a Yellow Sea cucumber who is doing great and has a great personality for my 5.5 gallon nano tank as its mascot :). I also have a tank journal for the 5.5 BTW.

The big RBTA with green and blue hues isn't doing so great so I added some extra flow and fed him some live brine I will update how he is doing later.

Any tips on keeping RBTA's? Mine needs a bit of help.
Make sure any powerheads have anemone gaurds so they don't get sucked in and nuke tank

If they are happy they stay put. If not they move around alot and may start spliting.

They need par avg of around 200+ to be happy for the most part. They will move to where they are happy. Risk is it may be next to or on top of your your favorite coral.

You can feed them but i wouldn't go out my way to do it being your tsnks are smaller. It can cause them to grow faster but also split.

I wouldn't call myself a expert on nems but I do have over 20 of them in different tanks, my oldest ones are nearly 3 years old.

They like a fair bit of light. Also, while they're definitely adaptable and robust animals overall, they can be pretty moody if conditions aren't stable. Can you post a pic? Is it white, doing weird things with its mouth, being stringy?

The nexus burst I got at the holiday party went into my new little holding tank while I wait for the actual tank for the budget build, so I'm going through the same thing where it's not too happy with me

I will post pics. It's currently retracted and not extending its tentacles. My tank's par is quite low so maybe 100 tops. When I got mine yesterday it was starting to split.

Ok, I'm thinking of putting it up on my scape so it'll get 150-180 but that's the highest possible. My Nexus though is looking very happy.

If you have those hot spots things may be ok puting them there.
They will move where they want. If they want more light they move up. This is the reason many people don't place them in their tanks, it stays put for 1 year. One morning you wake up it's in the middle of your prized sps or travels through the tank stinging and killing everything to reach it's happy spot.

So I personally took all the nems out of my main tank, and I'm not putting any in my 200gal tank. Unless I ever get the nerves to try a magnificant nem one day.
