Best movie ever.

More tinkering. I had a sea torch beast 160 sitting in my garage. They are from Australia so they run on 240v. Bought a power inverter put it pulled too many watts.almost 50. I dug around the garage and what do ya know. A small octo 1000. With some quick pvc mods. We have a eco budget skimmer. Not ideal but I’m a big fan of run what you got. Pulls almost 9 watts. I was playing around with ozone last year. Killed almost all my sps. Eh…… ozone is bad in high doses. Well. At setting 1 it isn’t. Dunno if you guys know it kills pathogens. So I put it on cuz I had it. Kilowatt meter doesnt even register the watt pull.

So here it is. Frankenstein skimmer ozone uv contraption. I had to spend 11 dollars for the eBay uv bulb. Oh if you guys didn’t know. You can use a mason jar and cut / crack the end out a little for slow flow. The jar will break up the uv so it doesn’t damage your plastic.
Flow is like this. Skimmer > Ozone > UV.

Supposed to be anything 1/4” thick the uv disburses. I haven’t seen any crazing in the acrylics. I’ve burned fish with open uv before thru a pvc with holes drilled thru it. I’ve also run open uv in the back of glass aio without issues. The light doesn’t get to the skimmer. It’s in the drop down side before the heaters.

I right. You guys make me paranoid. Lol. I don’t think it’s gonna happen cuz the bottom of the mason jar is the thickest. But anyways. I put a 1/2” piece of sacrificial acrylic between the jar and the sump panel.
