In a few months, my 300g tank will be ready for fish (previously had velvet and all fish died over a month ago). Doing fishless for 3-4 more months.
This time around, I'm looking for non-common colorful fish (even reef caution fish). Please list them and order of introduction.

on my radar:
queen angel
majestic angel
copperband butterfly - picky eater
clown trigger - loves coral
powder blue tang - ich magnet
moorish idol - very difficult
regal angel - rare
scribble angel - coral addict?
flagfin angel - coral clobber?

Your suggestion?

thanks,

Not so uncommon, but I had good luck with:
Bicolor Angel
Swallowtail Angel
Coral Beauty (lived a LONG time)
Cuban Hogfish
Harlequin tuskfish
Sailfin Tang
Yellow Tang
Magnificent Foxface

Keep in mind:
1) Uncommon fish are often uncommon for good reason.
2) Aggressiveness is probably the most important factor with a sizable group of large fish.
In particular, fish that look similar to each other may fight a bit.
3) Big tangs pollute a lot.
4) These larger fish really do grow big, I had to rehome some to reduce bioload, and I had a 240G.

A personal favorite of mine is the checkerboard ( Marble ) wrasse. The Clown Trigger is pretty awesome looking

why don't I see 10x Yellow Tangs in that list? they will absolutely make your tank vibrant and full of color.. :)

Try a school of tangs, that will definitely be uncommon.. Someone recently posted on FB they added like 10 Yellows and 7 Purples, all at the SAME TIME, and it has worked great for them.. so no matter what fish you choose, try to add them all at the same time.. I can attest to adding fish at the same time has worked for me (currently dealing with a new addition of CBB facing aggression from OG tank mates)

I would add Gold Rim instead of Powder Blue, as they are better looking in my personal opinion.. Adding to the uncommon list, definitely add a Marine Betta, they got so much personality, reef safe as well! Not so uncommon, but would add a Borbo Anthias to the list too.

Nice list. What do you plan on doing different this time around to prevent velvet, ich and other diseases out of your tank?
Buy qt (prefer) or else I'll qt them myself for 3 months.

I would say:
Any type of swallowtail angel.
Semilarvatus butterfly
Second the harlequin tuskfish
Second the regal angel
Pyramid butterfly fish
Blueface angel.
