Your favorite tongs/tweezers

What are you favorite tongs/tweezers/grabber for picking up things, moving, and other maintenance? I'm talking >20" to be able to reach the bottom of the tank.

My favorite tongs just broke after a couple years and are no longer available. I loved how nimble these were for delicate work with frags. I could even pick up asterinas with these. Unfortunately these are no longer available and I can't find them anywhere.

I also have the Maxspect coral gripper for heavier duty tasks like moving rocks but they're not good for precision work.

The Squidgly which look really good for what I need but dang are they pricey. Anyone have experience with them?

I have tunze grabber as well. ICan’t use them in my larger tank do to canopy height limitations, but they work good in the biocubes. As far as delicate tasks i have a 4 pack of 15 in tongs both straight and curved from Amazon.

I must be clumsy haha. I have those tunze tongs too but I end up knocking corals and breaking things if I try to use them for maintenance work.

I have the maxspect 24” grabbers and the carbon fiber tongs. Not a huge fan of either, but they work. Lol I’ve had my eye on the squidgly also, maybe Black Friday if they have a deal!

Tu I am surprised you find the Tunze useful, I had a pair and they are too dang bulky for much of anything. Maybe user error.

I use the carbon fiber ones - but the grip is incredibly weak. But they are long and don’t rust.

For anything requiring precision and/or strength I just stick my arm in there…my hands are in my tank quite a lot.

Thanks sir for the grabbers, though you cant pick up anything more than 2 lbs or so with them, tried small rock bolders they always seem to drop, but they have been generally useful over all. Although i tend to use the 15 inch tongs alot more as most tasks are picking up something tiny. It does suck even with the 15inch tongs half my arm gets wet. I need some 22-24 inch ones i think.

That’s where they went! I couldn’t remember who I gave them too.

I found some powder coated 24” ones on Amazon but they start rusting pretty quick.

Yea rust would be a hard pass for me, these i have haven't rusted at all just a bit short.

That’s the one I have, too. I have not seen a better one thus far, and I have bought many others.

After using the Squidgly for quite some time now, I must say they are TERRIBLE - DO NOT BUY. They feel very cheap and there is a delay with the spring and pretty much everything annoys me with these.

I just pulled out the above mentioned Tunze from storage and they are 100 times (at least) better. They are not a replacement of Derek's arms and hands, but they get the job done while also not perfect. Maybe someone found better ones by now?

Dammit! One more toy I have to buy now because of this club...Tu has all the cool toys. Just ordered one from amazon. I got tired of the two I was using (long metal tweezers and some graphite ones that are two short and have poor holding power).

Damn I was really hoping these were going to be good as I have been eyeing them for a while. Looks like i will have to also go the tunze route as mine are totally trash and I have to refrain myself from breaking them everytime I use them. Looks like I won't have to hold back myself much longer.
