Zoas disappearing

do you think that they got bleached in anyway(i know they are pinks, but they look very white in that pic)? Did they start low in the water column and then get moved higher? Radical change in light from tank to tank?

thats the color they are and no they weren't bleached and no they weren't moved they were on the bottom of a 24" tall tank
