AC now has an Aquaspin!

A few years ago, I sent some water off to a lab to get a baseline. One reason was that my nitrates were so high that my test kits just showed a single color (whatever was highest), this is the report you get for $40. They also sent a sort of "analysis" based on the numbers like "Hey, this is high, do something about this, maybe X,Y,Z"

Chalicss , Zoa's , Plates , and LPS all of which have been doing great. Been struggling my some of my sps lately which led me to see these test results
Yeh with these values most of this corsl would die.
I say again careful I am questioning the results. Do not take actions based on these results before you cross check. I think these results are incorrect.

This is your long-established tank, right? I’m going to call BS on the ammonia and nitrite levels, unless you just had your largest fish die and you are in the middle of a tank crash.

Also I’m assuming your phosphate was just written down wrong and is really 0.09 ppm based on your other comment?

Well he did sell off all the rock and stuff. So it’s still considered pretty “new” I would say.

I went to AC today to pick up a few more snails and decided to try out their Aqua Spin. My results are attached.

Carson said that the only one that seems to be constantly off for him so the po4 and I agree. He said everyone seems to say to just move the decimal point over one place to the left, and that's exactly how mine lines up.

Overall, I'd say this is totally worth $12 to double check your tests here and there. Carson said he plans to call API and see if either the tester can't read po4 at this low of a range or if it needs to be calibrated.

My parameters from the same water sample
Alk 8.5
Calcium 475 - Salifert
Mag 1350 Salifert
Po4 .03 - Hanna ULR HI-736
Nitrate 1 - Salifert
Nitrite (I don't check and I'm sure it's not 1
Ammonia (I also don't check and assume it's 0)
Ph 8.05 - BRS lab grade probe and apex (not really a true reading because the water was not aerated for a while)

Hey Chris, it’s great to hear that the result of the test is pretty close to your own test. The good thing is this is pretty new and there’s always room for improvement. Hopefully this will also become available on all LFS store in the Bay Area so our folks will have access to the test whenever they visit their own LFS.

Yeah, I would also question the Nitrite value...My bet is that your nitrite is not high.
