I bought these yesterday and they all looked normal. This morning before lights came on, a few were opened. Now I come home from work and some of the heads are really funky looking. I dipped them with revive before placing in the tank. Any ideas or recommendations?

That’s not Dendro. Just common Tubastrea (aka Sun Coral). They normally stays closed when light are on.
Thank you! I thought it wasn’t dendro when I got it but yesterday and this am there were none of those darker purple areas on it. Any idea why that is?

If you glue it to the underside of a rock so that it perpetually stays shaded they may come out during the "day"

and yeah as pretty as they are, non-photosynthetic and target feeding can definitely be a pain, don't target feed you'll be left with a pretty orange skeleton soon enough

If you mount them in a shaded area near a power head you won’t have to feed them. Just when you feed food. Make sure to drop some near the power head.

thanks for the replies everyone! I think a few heads are dying but it seems more due to trauma than anything. Fingers crossed the 5 or so healthy heads pull through.

I love the idea to glue it to the overhang. Once I verify positive life, I will do just that!
