Vermetid snail quarantine. How long before they stop spawning?

Vermetid's snails are like potato chips to Bubblebee snails. Once they open the bag they can't stop eating them until they are all gone and nothing but crumbs left.:p

Vermetid snail quarantine. How long before they stop spawning?

I just crushed the vermetid snails in quarantine. If the come back again I will try the coral snow method. Basically it is just powdered egg shells so I can put a few in the blender and the quarantine tank will be a nice test bed. Will give it a boil before I put it in to kill anything on...

Vermetid snail quarantine. How long before they stop spawning?

I am not an expert but I think they pull it into their shells and starve to death because they are loaded up with it instead of food. They cannot digest it.

    Biocube32

@MichaelB Thanks for the offer but the foot print is a little to big for the area I have my 16 gallon tank in.

Vermetid snail quarantine. How long before they stop spawning?

Long story short. Bought some corals and the Candy Cane had vermetid snails. I crushed them with pliers and dug them out with exacto blade and check it every couple of weeks and they keep coming back. Been doing this for about 60 days now. It is quarantined until I don't see anymore. Thank...

Took Over Daughters tank after she went to college. Added Sea Urchin to combat Carpet Algae

I am very aware of that. But I would have thought I would see some readings of Phosphates, Nitrates, etc after I have scrubbed every rock clean of algae and vacuumed the sand. I have two tanks both of similar size of 15 gallons and hers is full of carpet algae that I have been hand cleaning...

Took Over Daughters tank after she went to college. Added Sea Urchin to combat Carpet Algae

My daughter is off to college and I moved her tank from her room to the living room. She always had an issue with Algae. So much so that it looked more like a Refugium rather than a fist tank. After all the cleaning and water changes carpet algae keeps growing in thick. Phosphates, Nitrates...

AquaIllumination Coral Grow Blade out of warranty story.

I have been thinking that very thing. The downfall of the Coral Grow Blade is that it does not make the coral pop. It is on my to do list.

AquaIllumination Coral Grow Blade out of warranty story.

The Blade is my main light. I had an old BioCube 16 sitting in the corner and decided to turn it into a mini reef tank and that was the only LED light I could get into the tank. I custom made brackets to hold it in place with my 3D printer. I was working great and then just died. I suspect...

AquaIllumination Coral Grow Blade out of warranty story.

July 2023 I bought the AI Blade Coral Grow for my reef tank. In January 2025 is stopped working and was well out of warranty. I emailed AI and they said if I paid for the cost of shipping they would give me an estimate for repair and I would pay for parts and labor would be free. The initially...

AI Coral Grow light died. Looks like power entry capacitor leaded.

It always looked great. I did not have any of the problem people said about the light being uneven.

AI Coral Grow light died. Looks like power entry capacitor leaded.

Has anyone had issue with their AI Coral Grow Light? This one died this week. I am contacting AI but while I am waiting I opened it up and saw the power entry wires were all corroded and the power entry capacitor looked like it had leaked. I have been a field service engineer for 40 years so...
