Thanks @Alexander1312 I was planning on coming on and providing some feedback but got caught up with the workweek. Here is my attempt now.
I actually appreciate a lot of the responses here. I agree with some that I am overthinking it a little, but I was doing it on purpose a little bit...
Im not sure if this is the appropriate place to discuss this, but this thread has brought up some worries for me to now participate in any future frag swaps. Simply for fear of disappointing. I am somewhat a newbie to reefing and also to fragging. I have not had many failures yet fragging but...
I am aware of the concerns with the palythoa and am just treating them like they are undesirable and potentially unsafe. It is a big reason why I am spinning up a different tank as I plan to quarantine and try to kill it off. But as of now I don't have any pressing issues and am enjoying the tank.
Just adding that I think I found a good 3-6 more in the same spot of the tank. Under that little shelf looks like 3-4 under there.
That top one almost appears like it has a mouth.
Thoughts? Still a sponge? Still ok to leave as a science experiment?
Here have been my Go-To's since getting into the hobby. I think these are tailored for beginners like myself. I like to understand what im doing and why and these have been the best for my specific learning style.

Looking for help identifying this thing. I found it at the base of my zenia.
There are a pair a clowns, a lawnmower blenny, and a pygmy hawk fish. I also have snails, hermits, and crabs.
Any ideas? Sorry about the potato photos.
Thanks everyone. After listening to opinions here and talking with others in the hobby, I will mostly likely be getting a combination of live rock and ocean water from @under_water_ninja and High Tide Aquatics. It seems like the safe reasonable bet, is also here locally, and is a great...
I was hoping to get some opinions on peoples recommendations for "Livening" up a tank. I am starting up a brand new tank and so far it is with all dry marco rock and sand. I was thinking about buying 5lbs of the seeding Maricultured Live Rock. Shipped its $129.
I think my big question is...
Yes. I think you are correct with your recommendation. All of this can be understood with a couple of different tests. I will probably proceed down that route as it's really easy.
This is for a simple BioCube setup. Where the sump has 3 chambers. I have a 200w heater and 10w UV in chamber 1 where water is intaking but my temp probe in chamber 3 where the outtake pump is. The first chamber has vents to the main tank so I think the heated water would just bleed into the...
Hello.
I have a inkbird 308 wifi temp controller on my tank. I have the Heater element and my UV light in the same chamber of my sump but the temp probe itself is in another. The thought process on this was if it was in the same chamber than the probe they would be fighting each other when...
I really enjoyed both the talk and the social hour. Charles Delbeek is a great speaker and it was fascinating getting a perspective of larger tank care. Kenny and HTA also put together a great vibe for hosting, and is super inviting for a new Reefer such as myself. The local pizza and beer were...
