    55 gal drums

I’ve got two of those grey ones. They work great since they are so easy to clean with the wide opening.

    RODI Pressure gauge

That's really low to be feeing into your membranes. Are the prefilters clogged or do you have low pressure to begin with? Are you able to measure what it is before it goes through anything?

    resealing a starfire glass tank

@popper, That’s really not that bad. I had a used tank with a void that was filled with epoxy right on the seam. It was at the top so it had very little pressure on it. At least do it up for practice and water test it outside.

    RODI Pressure gauge

So where are you reading the pressure from that it’s 20 psi?

    resealing a starfire glass tank

I remember when @Scott Sweet got his tank dropped off and we helped bring it in, the tank builder was there dropping it off. I’m pretty sure it was CDA. I asked about the spacers and he said they use 1/16” spacers and leave them in. I bought a 12”x12” sheet of 1/16” thick polycarbonate that I...

    Eyeglass “blue light” coating?

A while back there was a blue light thread on R2R and an ophthalmologist weighed in and basically said unless we are looking directly into our lights for long periods of time then we’ll be fine. The way I look at it is it comes down to intensity and duration. You can’t look directly at the sun...

Glass tank move April 9 Boulder Creek

I would suspect that they may start to mind eventually. The salt doesn’t have anywhere to go except into the ground. When I went to a larger system I stopped doing water changes.

    Vincent's Office tank

My thought was the reflectivity of the black vs the clear glass, but that's just a guess. I think BRS did a video where they mentioned this same occurrence; I'd have to do some searching to find it though.

Two blue tangs, porcupine puffer, huma huma and six clowns

I should have just cited my source instead of relaying the information. https://www.marinecollectors.com/blogs/news/how-to-pt1-success-with-acanthurus-tangs I think they’ve got a good amount of first hand experience.

Two blue tangs, porcupine puffer, huma huma and six clowns

The article that I read was saying that his believe was the only reason that we see aggression was because of scarcity. Scarcity of food, territory, or mates. So feed heavy and you should be good.

Two blue tangs, porcupine puffer, huma huma and six clowns

I just read about doing 3 tangs of a kind instead of 2 so that any aggression is split between fish. I don’t have any direct experience with this though.

For building stairs, all the glass I use is tempered so all the cuts and holes have to be made before the tempering process. The drawback of tempering makes any edges the weakest portions of the glass (that includes any holes). In this style of guardrail, the glass is anchored in place through...
