Brand new xp-3000 pump is acting up. While it is running, it seems like the pump switches off an on very quickly, like a split second. This was happening every 5 to 10 seconds on friday when i set it up and saturday. On Monday it seemed to be doing it less but it was stil happening. I'm hoping...

Mine turned brown after the tank swap. It currently sits on the bottom of the tank but tank is pretty shallow at 20" lit by 250w reeflux on a LB ballast. Getting good growth but color is not there. Should I move them higher or are they geting too much light?

I'd like to get in line for this also when it becomes available.

What 20k bulbs are you running? Some 20k are too blue and can leave your tank looking washed out. Radiums have a good bluish tint that looks really nice. Or you can do Phoenix 14k. those are nice too. crisp white with a nice blue tint.

Jim, got all my livestock transferred over. Some SPS not looking so hot right now, the LB reflector is so much brighter I think I shocked some corals. I have some screen over the tank right now. I hope the colors come back. other than that, it ok....lost 2 fishes. :(

Got it! I'm pretty good at changing out my media on my own RO/DI filter when needed and check my TDS every 3 months or so. I'll be transferring my unit to the new house probably after I get back from L.A this weekend so I wont have to worry about this after.

This time around I used RO water from the LFS since my RO/DI is still hooked up at my condo. I'll try and test another batch of water and fresh water and see what results I get. I'm hoping maybe the reading was just off because After I gave the tube a really good cleaning and tested my cycling...

Decided to test some newly mixed saltwater and it showed ammonia reading of 0.25 using an API ammonia kit. Whats another ammonia test kit I should use to get more accurate readings since i know for a fact new salt water shouldnt have ammonia....or does it? By newly mixed saltwater I I mean it...

Quick update...Today I was able to remove the check valve on my return line. So ,uch more flow from not having the check valve. not much else done, still waiting on the cycle. Goot to play around with the vortechs and figured out how to set up and toggle thru the different modes and what not...
