    Yellojello's 120

Thanks. Not running any carbon or gfo, plus no shrimp or crabs. Will see if there is a dent in my snails, pod population. Maybe my Pincushion Urchin too.

    Yellojello's 120

I'm not beating the red bugs by dipping each sps individually. Just dosed Dr. G's SPS dip (Same ingredient as Interceptor) (7 capfuls to about 170 gallons water, some recommend capful for every 20-30 gallons). Removed skimmer cup and airline.

    CAD Lights 46G

My Crazy T monti seems slow. I think the other similar ones like Beach Bum are slow too.

Frags from Tim TFP, Neptune, Reef Raft, and have Battle Corals in line next month. I need to stop. Not a good idea to upgrade the frag tank >< The 302 ATS is the AS-2. It's way overpriced, and could build for less than $75 bucks material and lights, but was too lazy. Don't have good acrylic...

    Yellojello's 120

Just updated FTS. Added some rocks to the front as I had limited space for future frag placement. Picked up quite a few SPS frags. Replaced my Actinic Reefbrite Tech with SB Reef Sbar. ATS is growing well, definitely reduces display algae growth. Got tired of dipping red bug...

    SPS STNing, any ideas?

Redfield ratio. Redfin ratio is more related to Real Estate values. :P

    Fritz salt

BRS did get this question, hopefully they'll make a video soon. However, Fritz isn't a brand they sell, so that probably won't be in the tests: BRS Salt storage thread: https://www.reef2reef.com/posts/3604854/

New $10 acro frags at Neptune's

Haven't picked up any SPS for a while, will have to check it out soon. I think I'm a sucker for Strawberry Shortcake, I think I bought it at 3 different occasions that looked a little different at the shop lol

    ID hitchhiker on acro

Is this a feather duster or barnacle? Should I try to cut it out or cover it with superglue?

    Thinking of getting a CaRX...

I think I maxed out about 120-150 mL daily before my tank crashed. Agreed, different brands have different concentrations. I never tried to do a higher concentration with the BRS stuff, but with my Magnesium from Aquatic Collection group buy years ago which I still a lot left, I mix in 3.6 times...

    Thinking of getting a CaRX...

Was asking the OP, just wondering what a lot of consumption in his sense was. I'm using BRS stuff. Just used to it for 6 years and never thought of the DIY stuff or changing to something else since it works for fine for me. If I switch to anything, it would be CaRX. I already paid a lot for my...

    Thinking of getting a CaRX...

How many mL are you dosing at the moment? I have about 30 sps frags and 2 larger sps colonies in my 120g and 40g plumbed together. Dosing about 48 mL Alk and 36 mL Ca daily

    Fritz salt

I tried again with my 18 gallon mix, using a Jebao powerhead on low setting instead of my much more powerful MagDrive. It helped a lot with precipitation. With the MagDrive, it would almost be cloudy overnight and the MagDrive covered in white dust. With the Jebao, it still stayed fairly clear...

    How are you measuring salinity?

Before buying the Milwaukee, was thinking of getting veegee refractometer. For Milwaukee, I keep roll of toilet paper and RODI bottle to double rinse between readings.

The Protein Skimmer is Necessary (I am looking at you, Nano Reef)

I wonder if you still went skimmerless after "cooking" the rock, if the problems would have alleviated.

    Car salesmen... sheesh!

I remember back in 1999, forgot which website, but my older brother bought a brand new car online for near invoice price, had it delivered by flatbed to our driveway, with balloons and flowers, and 0 or 1 mile on the odometer. I think we got a mousepad too with their website name on it, sitting...

    How are you measuring salinity?

Used refractometer for over 7 years. Just got a digital Milwaukee and it's pretty nifty.

    Geneva's 120

The few times I've met her, she was super nice and eager to chat it up. This is such sad news! I was first excited that her journal is being updated, until I read the post. Condolences to her family and friends. RIP Geneva

I found that picture online somewhere. I assume they should be coming in stock more and more places.
