I too am testing as the standalone, but we are the pioneer users to find ways to improve the FMM ATK standalone mode on how it will work for anyone from the final release date as those customers will not...

    If you choose to remove the float valve (not recommended), you can insert your ATO tubing through the float valve hole and use the thumbscrew to secure the tubing in place.

    FMK = Flow Monitoring Kit ATK = Auto Topoff Kit Both use the same module the FMM = Fluid Monitoring Module When connected the the Apex you can use different accessories so you can mix and match Flow Meters with Optical Sensors, and Leak Sensors all on one FMM.

    45 or 90 elbow. Does it really matter?

    There can be difference but not significant as a 45 degree reduces the flow of half what a 90 degree fitting does, yet you need (2) 45's so they almost become equal in flow loss. Here is a chart of flow restrictions based on pipe size and fittings...

    I have had success massaging the edge of the foot (be careful not to damage the foot. Once it lifts just a bit then try to carefully massage the underneath of the foot, this is harder on rock but it can be done. I have hear of people using ice cubes to have them release. I have not tried this...

    The mounting board has all the Apex modules and you will be able to see the Base unit, display, and COR controller (When it comes available). yet if you need to get to the other modules you can press a button and the mounting board rises for easy access and cool factor...:cool:

    I will possibly go, but I am getting close to a tank tear down and rebuild with new rocks and keeping some corals and getting rid of others and a cool automated display stand so I will bring something but not sure if I will take anything home...lol

    yep, I take to Richard Ross theory of a lazy reefer. if you can keep thing in balance it works.

    I have not done a water change in a year now. (this will change once I get my auto water change setup) I dose (2) drops of Iodine twice a week I dose 5mL a day of Acropower. My Calcium reactor doses the rest of my trace elements.
