    There was a fire...

Hey Erin - I'm glad you're OK! Let me know if you need help moving gear/tanks and if you need help with any carpentry/repairs when you get to that point.

    Other hobbies

I’m slowly working on building a larger one in the garage that’s a little more robust than my desktop unit now. It’ll be able to cut aluminum no problem but probably not much more than that. I would like to make a CNC plasma table down the road though.

Talk to me about filter sock cleaning

I do. I started using them 4 or 5 months ago because I hated cleaning the felt socks. It sure is a lot easier but I agree that they're not exactly sustainable. It's roughly $1.00 per change and I change it out every 4-5 days. It adds up over time. I don't miss washing out the felt socks...

    What happened to Terrence ?

I might have over exaggerated that a bit :) I based that off of what he said on the Reefing Report Podcasts. I think maybe he was just doing s series of short term trips in the RV?

    What happened to Terrence ?

He's roaming around the country in his RV and making a weekly Podcast (The Reefing Report) with Mr. Saltwater Tank. https://www.youtube.com/c/ReefingReport I don't have any details on what happened at Neptune though.

    Peninsula tank recommendations/guidance

Average length I would say :) I did build my stand on the taller side and that doesn't help my cause any. I agree with you on it being easer to manage with a peninsula tank. You have easy access from both sides.

    Peninsula tank recommendations/guidance

I'm right there with you. Never again will I have a tank that tall. I have a 48x24x30. I can't reach anything on the bottom by hand without being up to my armpit. It's difficult at best to glue corals on the rocks in the bottom half of the tank with tongs. I love the height for fish...

Anyone have some coralline scrapings to spare?

I can pull a few pieces of small rubble/large gravel out for you that is covered with coralline if you want it. I'm in Oakley.

How to set Jebao MLW wave pump to below the minimum 30% speed?

It will probably not reliably spin the impeller at less than 30%. You can try a lower voltage power supply or an adjustable power supply. i.e. if it's 12V, try a 9V. You just need to make sure get one with enough amperage to power the pump...

    JF Captain Jerks

I checked when I got home last night and I'm pretty sure I have the same zoas. I glued 4 different frags on this rock at the same time, about 2 or 3 months ago. The Captain Jerks are definitely spreading more quickly than the others. I will have to break that rock up this weekend and rethink...

That's unfortunate. I think I may have made that same mistake. How long did it take for that to happen?

Question for collective mind - sand clumping

I had that happen to me several years/tanks ago. What I ultimately found out was it was overdosing alk with my 2-part dosing. I don't know for sure what initially triggered it (possibly high pH as alluded to above) but once the clumping started my alk uptake increased right along with it. And...

MP10 bearings (also anyone have a pump to off load?)

Bearing Engineering might have these in stock. Try http://www.bearingengineering.com/ and click Contact Us for locations. You'll most likely have to purchase a box of bearings from them if they have them on hand. There are also plenty on Amazon. Stainless and also hybrid stainless/ceramic on...

Let’s see some pictures of what you diy built.

I just finished making an AIO drop-in filter for a 20G tank. Using this for a Q/T tank. I have pics of the drop-in getting glued up but I forgot to take pics after I siliconed it into the tank.
