    Patio's IM 75 EXT

This is what @CharlesJohns58 talked about with the Philippine reef at the Steinhart Aquarium and how they didn't need to supplement alkalinity for awhile. I had the same thing with mine too when I had lots of aquascaping cement on my structures.

    Darkxerox's '25 budget build

September update, chugging along (last photo was August at midnight). Got some nice bubbles on the mushrooms. Temp has gotten high on hot days with the lid on, but otherwise the shrimp and crabs are all doing well. There's an insane amount of mysids and copepods running around due to no fish.

How's your copepod population? They usually bulldoze diatoms.

Tunze wave box? Yes or No

Pretty sure I'd get splashing water noises too from my emergency overflow with a standing wave. Listening to some videos online it sounds pretty noisy even without this.

    7.5 Gallon Bookshelf Nano

Ah ok so it isn't a powder. If it was a powder you mix into a solution, that would be the dead giveaway with it getting cold. The idea behind using ammonium vs. nitrate is that it's more energy efficient for bacteria and corals to use it since they don't need to convert it as far...

    7.5 Gallon Bookshelf Nano

When you dose the ESV nitrate, is the solution getting cold? That would likely indicate it is calcium nitrate since it's endothermic. Have you tried ammonium bicarbonate yet?

    210 gallon Dream tank

You can either hide a bin with sand or create a natural rubble zone for the wrasses. Mine enjoy the rock areas that are hollow with multiple entry holes. Think a soccer ball but all the black patches are holes.

GeeksReef 40G planned to be bommie stony coral reef

What's your budget? We have a lot of hoarders in the club here and you likely can find used lights way cheaper then new.

    Activated carbon (GAC) quality differences

What the heck. Looks like it had GFO mixed in. If you're worried about fines, I've been putting my carbon bag in a filter sock and hanging it in my sump, so they can't get out.

    Acrylic cleaning material help

Try those tips, then turn off all your blue/violet LEDs, and turn on the warm white ones if you have control of that easily.

    Acrylic cleaning material help

Yeah no idea what it is then. Try the urchin, it might at least loosen the bits if they're not etched into the acrylic. But a better macro picture would help. Then maybe the other acrylic gurus could chime in like @Kensington Reefer

    Acrylic cleaning material help

Fingernail doesn't take it off either? Hard to tell from the picture, can you take a close up macro shot with the whites only on? Only thing I had issues with in the past was a specific species of pink coralline algae. To this day the only thing that got it off was a blunted metal scraper that...
