DBTC: Seeded Polyp Lab Genesis Rock

We went over a lot of these points in the last thread and at the BOD meeting, however this is meant to be club equipment which is why the club paid for and distributed the blocks. We choose the Polyp Lab ones because they don't degrade like lots of brands do and can be continually shared like a...

DBTC: Seeded Polyp Lab Genesis Rock

We have seeded Polyp Lab blocks to share within the club for starting new tanks or adding additional biodiversity to existing tanks. We're using DBTC to track lineage and people receiving blocks from donors should clean out used blocks to return to them afterwards for continued sharing. I just...

    Hyposalinity

I wouldn't go too high since you might get precipitation depending on your salt mix. Just keep it at nsw levels and be patient. Put a fan on the tank if you want it to go faster.

    Hyposalinity

If you have no corals, set your blades to like 1-2% white and nothing else, you're just having them on to look at fish. Otherwise you're growing algae. You'll need to introduce some healthy biomedia since the hypo may have killed off a lot of beneficial things like microcrustaceans or other...

    Randy Holmes Farley Magnesium DIY

I've used it for years too. Note that you're going to want a really airtight container for the MgCl since it's hygroscopic.

    Reef 3D printing request thread

Yeah you can run the cords along the rim of the tank and it's a lot cleaner, plus it functions as a drip loop to protect the driver. I know you have cats too Michael and probably better to get the cables out of reach!

Help needed on Blue Tang with black (parasitic?) issue.

What sort of diet is it on and how big is the tank?

You can't have as many Neptune devices as Rich so I'm sure you're ok (49 was the limit according to the last podcast). Maybe some cables are corroded?

    Into the Reef Crest

Crazy I haven't seen an isopod on a captive bred clown ever! Heck I've only seen them on fish in books. Are you using a float switch or anything on the RODI containers? I've had my fair share of spills without one.
