    Acropora slowly turning brown

It’s a nuvo40 running a gen5 Radion XR30 blue, mounted At 8” AB+ spectrum at 65% intensity. According to BRS this should put the first 6-8” of the tank in the 300ish par range

    Acropora slowly turning brown

my tank is about 8 months old, bare bottom. Coraline has covered the bare bottom and like 75% of the back wall ive never heard of RSCP causing browning so I’ll be sure to check out the videos. I’ve tried dosing brightwell amino in the past but end up with Dino’s after a week or so

    Acropora slowly turning brown

Yea I use Red Sea coral pro. And figured I’d aim for stability so I dose ESV by hand to maintain it between water changes. Sounds like I should just let it consume alk naturally... what should I aim for?

    Acropora slowly turning brown

I mainly have teniuses which I assume would like more light...maybe I’ll borrow a par meter from BRS if the line is long for the par meter

    Acropora slowly turning brown

No idea what par is. Based off of BRS vids the acros should be sitting in 300+ par. Full photo period is from 1145-915, with an hour ramp up and down

    Acropora slowly turning brown

I seem to have an issue with my Nuvo 40 where the acropora slowly turn brown over the span of a few weeks. It's being lit by a Radion G5 Blue with AB+, at about 60% intensity. PE is good, just no color Alkalinity: 11.5 Calcium: 450 Mag: 1500 Nitrates: 5-12ppm Phos: .05-.09 ICP tests also...

PhosRX without Skimmer / 10 Micron Sock

I've considered using PhosRX for my nuvo40 to keep phosphates low, however, I don't have a 10 micron sock nor do I have a skimmer. I ran an ICP test and it did detect some Lanthanum, so I'm wondering if this will be harmful in the long run if I continue dosing without skimmer/10 micron sock...

    Anna & Pablo’s RSR P650

Yea that's been my experience...so I dunno if I would take the nitrate level at 100 at face value since there is still nitrite in the water

    Anna & Pablo’s RSR P650

Sorry, was referencing his 100 Nitrate reading in his earlier post where he had a nitrite of 1, and nitrates of 100

    Anna & Pablo’s RSR P650

I've found nitrate test kits arent accurate with nitrite in the water as well

What in the world is this?!

False alarm...It looks like my brittle star got its legs cut in the pumps or something...I saw it this morning as it moved out from under the rock work and the legs are significantly shorter than what they used to be

What in the world is this?!

It definitely came as a hitchhiker...I thought it was just my brittle star at first glance but it definitely isn’t. it’s under my rock work so I don’t really have an easy way to pull it out...it looked like it was just eating detritus

How often to feed Mandarin goby?

I have a mandarin goby that is eating LRS and frozen hikari Mysis. I also have pods in the tank, but now sure if the population can be sustained with a possum wrasse and mandarin hunting all day is feeding 1-2 times a day enough?

What happens after an Acro covers a frag plug?

Got it...I was going to remove it and cut the plug off so its just sititng on the circular disk but seems like this is not needed

What happens after an Acro covers a frag plug?

So I have an acro frag that has completely encrusted the frag plug, however, I kept the stem on the frag plug and mounted the stem to the rocks. So now there is a gap from where the acro has covered the frag plug and the frag plug touching the rock. What happens with the growth now? Assuming...
