Have you considered just cutting a bit out of your structure and then reattaching with reef cement? Could get you an extra 1.5-2”

At the moment, I’d say there’s no issue. However, once they get even an inch taller the ones in front of the flow are going to start blocking it from those behind. My ATO magnet seems to be swelling after only a couple of months in water. Could I try coating the magnet myself with some spare silicon, or should I just purchase a magnet? If the latter, any suggestions for smaller reef-safe coated magnets would be appreciated.

I would target something that’s going to contrast well against the colors you already have a majority of at the top half of the tank. Ie red if you have mostly green.
