Brendan at Kessil graciously offered to host our club in a behind the scenes tour on Saturday 7/20. With their continued donations and support, BAR really appreciates what Kessil has done for us, and this is your chance to see how the lights are made! The place is large so 100+ guests are welcome. Supporting members and their direct family only. Note: the location isn't "kid friendly" so parents will need to keep them close and not wandering off.


Time: 9:30 AM gathering, 10 AM am tour start
Location: 1689 Regatta Blvd, Richmond, CA 94804
Instructions: Pull in by the sign that says “DiCon FiberOptics”. There’s plenty of parking. If the gate is closed, just sit tight as security will open it up.

Raffle info: Brendan has graciously offered door prizes of lights for attendees!
Rules: Must be a supporting member. One entry per supporting member (family attending will not count as extra entries).

I have put myself down for yes, but it's actually a maybe for now. Need to confirm some work scheduling is all. But if I can get coverage, count me in.

Kessil Tour- Nov 9

Kessil has volunteered to host a BAR visit and tour of their facilities in Richmond again! The tour is planned for Sat, November 9. From Brendan at Kessil: I'm thinking we'll shoot for about 10:30am for people to arrive. We'll have coffee, bagels, doughnuts, etc around while people arrive...

What a cool trip, man so much to learn about color spectrum(s), but also the technology that goes into the lights themselves, each diode/led, how color combos work to enhance life and growth of corals… the complexity of mashing it altogether at proper wavelengths, with an app my kid can manage nonetheless… good stuff! I expect a full report!
