I'd like some of the 35ppt refractometer solution, since that's one thing I know is out of whack on mine, hell the plastic top piece broke off so I've been using a regular piece of plastic to smoosh the water down... who knows how much off it is via that method!

Technically, that shouldn't matter. The refractive index change is between the water and glass interface.
