Hi guys/gals,

I recently purchased a bi-color hoping he would play nice if I fed him well enough. But alas he’s been nibbling my coral polyps . Now I’m noticing not much polyp extension from my corals and the zoas are not extending out?! I’ve also been trying to train him by tapping on the glass every time he starts to nibble. So I also bought some new food suggested by a LFS. Still seeing trouble. Should I break out the trap or what should be done? Please advise??

Thanks everyone for listening.

He’s doing what he does. You can’t change that. They don’t understand
Understood. You can take the boy out of the woods but you can’t… sort of deal.

Any tricks you guys recommend? I thank I’ll miss him, you can see his personality.

I had to remove my lemon peel from my tank cause he was eating all my softies. Its the only way.

I always remember telling people in the store this was one of the worst pygmy angels in a reef, along with lemonpeels. They nip everything.

It's hindsight I know, but definitely do lots of research (books) before grabbing a fish. Posts elsewhere online often aren't by experienced reefers. Or, just ask here, since we have a ton of 20+ year experienced hobbyists.

Thanks everyone for there replies, I’m thinking of seeing how he does for awhile and if he keeps causing trouble then the fish trap it is.
