I used to keep the modem close to my tank and I accidentally spilt a bunch of water on it last month. It died today.

See that's the reason to pay Comcast (or whomever) a monthly fee for their modem, when salt spray kills it they replace it for 'free'

But yeah I found out the hard way that even being 20 feet away from a tank can create extra humidity which prematurely rusts tools and electronics.
