check with your local water company on this-chances are they are using chloramine/chlorine but then again with a tds of 400+ plus supposedly I wonder if they filter the water at all?!

In the east bay they do use chloramine and when I used to make my own water -I had a chloramine block in the second stage (sediment filter was first). I didn’t make RODI though as the TDS was 30 at the time.

SJ water does use chloramine, that information is public and they do call out that it may have an impact on live fish or aquatic animals:

Looks like they were doing a combo chlorine and chloramine mix before but now going all in on chloramine. Either way you def need a filter before it hits the RODI membrane -I believe it can damage it permanently..

Is it significant enough to get a $300 carbon filter?? All my RODI icp tests come back zeros across the board. Latest one was last month and membrane is 2 years old.

Whats the difference between the chorimine monster that I can’t just run a standard carbon block before the rodi. It says contact time, but doesnt a dual stage reactor provide the same benefit?
