Coral reefer’s 360 gal system. 225 display and frag tanks

3 strategically placed would probably do ok. But I would think 4 - 5 would be ideal. Depends what corals are where. If you have sps more centered and lps lower light stuff to the sides you could probably make it work.

That is the number I was going to pick. It gets tricky if you want to have high lighting all the way to the top at the front and back and you have a tall tank, but the need for that is easily avoided.
I had a light every 2 feet left to right, and 2 rows front to back on my large tank, but that tank was 32” tall, and it wasn’t really necessary in hindsight.

I was thinking 4 myself. Might have them oriented sideways so 6 pucks left to right and use 1-2 of my olds sol blues for back middle between overflow boxes.

I would expect quite a bit of shading like that. Especially on a 30" wide tank. But you have them, so set them up and see what it looks like

You would put them front to back?
Yes. For better coverage. Also depends how high you mount them.

Here's some captures from the brs video on the xr30s. Ignore the par numbers, but you can see the difference in the "heat maps"

This in on a 40x20 tank. So obviously take that into account

It's not so much the par, it's the fact that if you do them in a line down the middle of the tank, you have a line of light making somewhat of a cone down and outward.

I’ve had a kh director for awhile, can’t get it setup for the life of me. Anyone have a pc laptop (non Apple) that would be able and willing to come help me?

I can help out, probably not before the weekend but I've got a laptop to do it, but if somebody else who's done it before can come help that might be more useful cause I would be going in blind, but happy to help.

Finally got a second light over the new frag tank. And the other two. Finally lowered down the two fixtures on the original tank since they were crazy high originally.
I’ve got the new ones 8.5” above water, and it’s shallower than the others as well.
The middle frag tank is at 10.5” above water, and three fixtures.
Original two are down from 13.5” to about 10”
