Mechanical engineer, currently optical systems, but in the past high volume automotive, military aircrew safety, and a couple other things. (Also currently very open to a change). Wife is an engineer too, somewhere between EE and ME.

Had i continued my first career, i could have claimed playing with plasma, lasers, and big magnets. It's a wonder i still managed to have a kid

I’m still a student, but I’ve got a job at the university working at the paloecology lab which pays enough to keep me afloat. Just applied to phd programs so this will be my fate for a few years to come
Are you sure about the "few" part? - Been there, done that. ;)

Luckily, I got my PhD before I got addicted to reefing :)
