Featured DBTC / PIF / Trades for 2/23 Frag Swap

I have started another sheet for folks to offer and claim desirable DBTC at the upcoming frag swap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nhNzTnP9sHlICosyAPwjPMeDacnWJ3Ju2fzIZMItxik/edit?usp=sharing

I also recall how difficult it was to remember who I was trading stuff and giving stuff to at the last one, so I've also created sections for those as well if anyone would like to track (or would like me to track - happy to do it) those transactions too.

Available in the sheet right now for DBTC:
Red Dragon
GMK
Manila Spy
Goldenrod
Available PIF:
GSP (@tribbitt )
Red Digi
Available for trade:
20-30 polyp GMK colony
Huge JF Jolt Frag
Huge FF Digi frag (5")

Either update the sheet, shoot me a PM, or post here if you're interested in any of the DBTC, PIF, or have something you want to offer up for trade.
I'll trade you either poto poision ivy or CB flaming unicorn for JF Jolt.

Fragged one of my rainbow chalices. Sister colony also pictured for reference. Was nerve wracking since this is the first high-end piece I’ve fragged, but after a few days, all frags showing very nice signs of recovery. Would be open to sell or trade one of these frags. Mainly looking for Zoas, chalices and and/or torches. If anyone is interested, shoot me a message.

Very nice looking!

We will not have the bandsaw at the swap, correct? I still have 3 nice acro frags on a reef art plug, and cannot move them until the plug is removed.
I’m starting to use my new plugs for everything I frag going forward. Not using the reef art ones anymore lol. Debating whether I should put them in the free table or just toss them so I don’t contribute to this problem anymore

Long as whoever picks them up lets us know who made the orginal contrbutions on the free table so we ultimately know who to blame jk.

Honestly though some people would be happy to have them (just. Not me lol)

Feel free to give them away

You don’t need a bandsaw to remove an acro from a plug no matter how hard it is. You can just cut the base of the acro, usually can just pop it off at the superglue with a bone cutter. Unless maybe you are trying to preserve the growth on the plug?

Keep them as a backup? Or use as media (not very porous but it's inert I guess)

Tbh I often pop the whole coral off the plug when I can because I don't like the round disc anyway. Only exceptions being nice encrusting etc. To me, frag plugs are good for holding a coral in place prior to sharing, or during recovery, allowing it to sit on a rack and not tumble around. So for those cases, it doesn't matter if the stem can't come off. For me, the one time I needed to clip the stem was to put the plug on a disc flush (and that broke the clippers).

My tank is small enough that the round discs are actually intrusive! Lol

You just want the plug removed?

I was referring to the post below and have three acros sitting on such a frag plug which are fully encrusted over the plug and they do not just pop of, unfortunately. Normally, I only remove the plug itself when they are encrusted which is not possible with normal tools for these types of plugs. Hence my ask for the bandsaw, but I was more hoping to just quickly cutoff the plugsat the swap and not take the saw home.

I don't think we want a bandsaw running at the swap with everything else going on.

Thet being said If you brought them i could bring my dremel it's small and works well for removing those plugs doesn't make a big mess. Or if there is a harbor frieght near you they can be picked up fairly cheap. I've found my dremel to be probably one of my most useful tools. For fragging.

You wouldn't regret getting yourself one.

Bring them and I'll get the plug off for you. You just need a bigger pair of cutters.

Could I please be added to the list for Daisy Cutter zoa, Iron Man mushroom, and the White Urchin?
Yes added your name - which I don't mind. But note for everyone that the sheet is public this time so you can just put your name down on anything you like as long as there's some qty available and you're a supporting member.

@Everyone here - there will be a DBTC table set up at the swap with clear signage and a logbook.

For those contributing coral - Feel free to simply write the name of the recipient on the container for any DBTC/PIF claimed in the google sheet and drop it off on the table for your person to pick up.

For those picking up coral - You will still need to sign the logbook so we can make sure the transfers all happen in barcode. Grab anything else from the table you like too! There's going to be plenty of stuff not claimed ahead of time. Please don't pick up a container with someone else's name on it. :)

The google sheet linked here is only meant to facilitate DBTC/PIF/Trades - the logbook will continue to be the point of record for the swap in terms of confirming which DBTC transfers actually took place.

Thanks everyone for participating in this process and keeping the DBTC program active! I welcome any feedback
