Electronic alk monitoring alternative to trident

So the trident went down with a test b failure.,
Going to try and fix it myself but this is the third unit in 3 years that I have had.

Second unit under warranty, third unit by refurbished unit-which is not inexpensive-it’s $150 and the warranty is only 6 months.

If I can’t get it resolved -then I am curious to other daily alk monitoring devices that people have used. I don’t care about CA or MG as AFR keeps those others balanced.

If anyone has used any other devices I’d be interested to hear their experiences-good, bad, and the ugly.

In the meanwhile going to get to work on it.,

I have my challenges with Alkatronic but after the ‘honeymoon’ period, I can’t live without it .

Main thing I like is

1. Low cost reagent ( dirt cheap)
2. Very responsible support
3. Consistent ( if you keep up the maintenance/ calibration)
4. Can automatic dose based on alk reading although I’m not using this feature

Cons
1. Need calibration every couple of months at least . Not sure if this the case for every manufacturer. Takes about 10-15mins but I tend to forget
2. Noisy ( maybe I’m just sensitive to noise) .

I've been using the AquaWiz since the beginning of the year and like it so far.

Pros
No reagent
Easy setup and calibration (if you don't mind funny Chinese to English translations sometimes)
Accurate, has been within 0.2 dKH of my Hanna checker.
It has an additional pump that can auto dose (Kalkwasser, All for Reef, other "1 part" dosing products), which I have not used/tried.

Cons
Noise, it uses an air stone to aerate the water samples, so it has that humming vibration sound when performing a test. If you have your tank in your bedroom it could be annoying. You can choose not to test at night if you like, however.
If you have it in an area with light, it can grow algae in the main water chamber. Mine is in a dark area so I don't have that issue.

Neutral
Support, I haven't had any issues where I needed to reach out for support from the company. Anand from Collector's Corals, who sells the AquaWiz in the US, is helpful and responsive if you have questions. Instagram DM is probably fastest.

I have been using the Kamoer KH carer for about a year. Reagent is cheap and mixing it is actually the hardest part. Other than that it is consistent. Set up and everything was easy. Drain pump is the noisiest thing on the unit.
