And just to give another example- if I take the same measurements 6 ft in front of my tank, sitting, I get:

So if for the sake of discussion we use these numbers, it is only 1 dB louder at this more typical viewing location. This is 26% more sound energy, but only 2.4% louder linearly.

After lowering my lights to 8” above the surface (to get the PAR I wanted) two of these fans do a decent job to keep temps down. Today, the ambient temperature got to 81° but the tank never went above 79° with the fans on.
