Things are really coming along nicely. Looking forward to when you've got water and things established enough to have a tank tour.

What are the specs on those drawer slides? I wanted to do something like that for my current lighting, don't have the ceiling height to really do something like Ian/You(?) with the actuator pulling the lights up, but would be nice to slide the lights like puzzle blocks around.

Mike,

I bought them off Ed (Dr. Dolittle). I believe they're rated for atleast 250 lbs....but don't quote me. I might have some shorter ones in storage...when are you planning the project ?

No time soon, it was a thought when I put the lights over the tank, and due to a large beam right over the tank I was limited to what i could do. Just always thinking ideas of for the future :D

Wow, those are some pretty fancy shelves for the fish room.
Fantastic job.
Small sump though??

At any rate, I want to compare that with my shelving.
Or should I call it "emptying out the scrap wood area".

Shot of sump for the qt.

Other updates:

I'm expecting my BRS order to come in this week so I can finish up the plumbing. I also have to order my lights (lumenmax elites), ballasts (lumatek selectable 250/400 watt), & bulbs (leaning towards giesemans 14k se). Gen and I are working on a design for a metal rack similiar to the rim on my display tank.

The sump is a 29 gallon for a 80 gal frag tank (which is more than a 1/3 of the ft volume). I was thinking of putting my 40 gallon breeder as the sump, but will see how the 29 sump works.

You should see the plywood pile I have in the yard...you would have a field day. ;)

Ahh, I was thinking that was the sump for the main 450G tank. You probably dump 15 gallons when the power stops on a tank that size.
Yes, certainly plenty big for the frag tank.

4 deluxe BRS reactors and a Jumbo BRS reactor. I plan on using one deluxe reactor w/carbon and the jumbo reactor w/phosguard for the main display. One of each deluxe reactor for the frag tank and One deluxe reactor w/mix media for the quarantine tank.

Would you guys tee of the return or run a dedicated pump for the reactors ?

Any thoughts ?
