I just got my ATL Cyphastrea. any tip on care and placement? the polyps are not opening..

No problem Ed, I'll let you know. I am using a nikon d200 with a 90mm tamron macro lens. For the cyphastrea, I have mine on the bottom of my tank. Moderate flow. It grows really fast.

For some reason the growth just took off in the last month.

Mine was that way too. Sat around encrusting like crazy, and maybe about a month or so ago, all kind of branches started sprouting. Wonder if all frags from that colony have a growth spurt at the same time... would be interesting.

New pick up. I had to photoshop it a bit to get the colors to look right. Norman can attest to the brightness. He has a chunk in his tank right now. Still can't get the green to glow like it does in the tank.
