The roughing is done. Let’s see how far I get on the finish before I get lazy.

What are those 2x4's screwed into the corners doing? Preventing racking at the corners? I just noticed they don't span the entire height so I was curious.

Those are corner guides. You build the top and bottom rectangle. Then put in short 2x4 as guides to square the top and bottom before the 2x6 L vertical supports. You can make spot on adjust measurements like that.

I busted out my 30 year old bondo LOL. It was still good. Dug out all my old body supplies. Painted it with rustolium satin black. It started to bubble. So let it dry. Sanded it again and more bubbles. Struggled with it for a few days. Then decided to let whatever chemicals is in it. Vape out.

On To The Main Event.
Time to make a Freshwater Aquarium into a Saltwater Aquarium. And Yes there is a difference.

The Aquarium is pretty scratched. For the peeps that don’t know. You start with 800 grit , 1000, 2000, cutting compound, polishing compound. All sanding has to be done by hand with a sanding block. Each time you change grit. You have to change direction. Example. 800 lengthwise. Then 1000 height wise. And so on. You know it’s good when all the cross sections are in the same direction your sanding.
I can’t get all the scratches out. But I’m just looking for passable.
Btw. I’m tired now.

I’ve been busy all week. Got a few hours here and there. About 6 hours with my old ass buffer. It’s older than some of the members on here. Lol. Still works great.

Tell Ya. This aquarium is scratched up big time. At least the front panel is decent. Let the buffing continue.
