got ethical husbandry?

keeping glass tank outside..

I know temper glass is very hard but I'm not sure how well it can handle under the direct sun especially when it wet. When the glass is wet, the water spot is acting as a magnify glass. If you play with magnify glass before, you know how hot it can get under the sun :) .. Not that I don't trust you Craig. I don't think anyone test that yet.. If you have some scrap temper glass, can you try it out?? :D

Wanna see how hard temper glass is?? Check out the video below..

but something pointy will break it very easy..

like i said you gotta penetrate the glass to make it break, dont worry about water on the glass, skyscrapers and houses are the outer shell of the buildings, they take storms and weather all kinds of elements without breaking! it will not break from water on the glass with sun hitting it.

Sorry I call BS. If a little water on tempered glass did that we'd have NO auto glass left. You know how hot a car window can get? I routinely hit mine with my temp laser and 150f is not all that uncommon. It hit 140f today and it wasn't even that hot.

Besides, the water would actively help the heat dissipate as it's a great at thermal transfer ;) The water would boil off before being able to heat the glass beyond what it could handle. It would act nothing like a magnifying glass in other words. nice try though

I trust the guy who works in the industry over any old person any day.

Yes and no. This situation doesn't apply as you are thinking about it. If you are curious and want to be inducted into the hall of ultra geekdom, it can be explained :)

No need to explain.. I take you guys word for it :) ..

I still won't keep a wet tank under direct sun though  ..

That's fine. Everyone is entitled to their own paranoia, right or wrong :)
