Major Scratch: Darn! Any tips on using Lifeguard product?

Well, pic below. Ouch. I have these small snails (Island Pacific Sea Farms calls them Strombus maculatus, but Ronald Shimek says they are Dove snails (COLUMBELLID) -- I won't ever use them again in an acrylic tank, there are way too many of them and they make cleaning the tank a pain). Every once in a while they get stuck in the magnet. Anyway, my beautiful tank has a major gash. I am planning to try the Lifeguard product without removing the water (the gash is down just above the sand line). All of the reviews on this product are 4 or 5 stars, but I was wondering if anyone here has tried it. If so, any pointers?

I have not used their micro meh kit, but I have used micro mesh. Do a MUCH larger area then just the scratch as not to make a lens. I found not doing circular motions to be better
 
But you can get scratches out of glass!
