Here is a simple mod / maintenance. Depending on how you want to think about it. I measure my x30 pre paste 40.8C. And after paste 34.4C that’s 6.4C difference which is 43.5 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s a lot. So what am I taking about ? Thermal Paste. Some thing no one thinks about but it’s extremely important. Yes Erin. My pictures suck. Lol.

Remove torx screws T-20. Radion T-20 and T-10. Lift led board up by pins. Radion has 2 sets of pins. Put on the gravy. Less is more. More is messy. Put it back together. Make sure pins line up. Last pic is xr30. The paste is hella dry. So probably wasn’t even working.

BTW. The number 1 reason why led diodes burn out is heat. So this is a good idea for the longevity of your light.

Circle where you paste the gravy

On the radions and the x30. The whole back is the heat sink. It’s lame because they don’t put any gravy on there so the heat sink doesn’t work well.

I bought this one on Amazon. It was like 12 dollars

Hot dipped in gravy! Killer idea, im wondering if thermal tape would be as effective as the goo. Less mess

Technically yes. Less thermal contact. Unless you tape the whole thing. Then you just should use the gravy.

Attach some copper to the heat sink that will rest on top the chip at the mother board. Bet that brings down thermals if your trying to get really frosty.
