Thank you, it is a labor of love.Just got done reading your build thread.
Awesome journey and a beautiful reef!
Clearwater has them occasionally. The green one I traded a mushroom for ~2 years ago. The orange ones are more common.where did you get the suncorals ?
This is probably my worst problem to deal with, knowing when to swap prefilters, and when to change resin. I get color changing resin but is it all supposed to be that light tan color when it's used up?Time to swap the pre-filter and some resin.
My sediment filter is the color of rust all the way to the center of it when I change it. Typically every 400ish gallons. This is probably my worst problem to deal with, knowing when to swap prefilters, and when to change resin. Yikes! Dirty pipes you have, probably makes you feel good when you drink or cook with that waterMy sediment filter is the color of rust all the way to the center of it when I change it. Typically every 400ish gallons.
I was hoping it would cause some superpowers.Yikes! Dirty pipes you have, probably makes you feel good when you drink or cook with that water
If you have a 2nd (or 3rd) resin in line, then it is ok to let the color of the first resin to change completely. Once the resin has changed color, it has a different affinity for molecules and can release potentially harmful chemicals into the water. This is why I currently run 3 mixed bed resins, and will likely upgrade to cation and anion split, with a mixed after. This is probably my worst problem to deal with, knowing when to swap prefilters, and when to change resin.
