New AF "All-in Skim 4-in-1" Skimmer

I'm curious if anyone plans to try one of these. The 4 "features" are:

1. Skimmer
2. CO2 scrubber
3. Odor neutralizer
4. Biological Media Reactor

I'm personally not convinced that 3, 4 are all that necessary. I'd still consider it for combining 1, 2.

this skimmer is reportedly built around ozone injection where the carbon is a useful safety feature. not that you can just order an ozone generator anymore around here....

the bio media might matter if youre in a tight sump but that just seems like a pain in the ass to clean.

even with recycling, that scrubber media would have only lasted me two weeks. i dont have ph problems anymore so it isnt a consideration but i am glad i dont have to deal with that anymore.

Yah, the CO2 scrubber media cannister looks quite small. 2 weeks isn't so bad if it lasts that long. That's about how long my BRS cannister lasts with open air recirculation.

On paper, it looks like the ideal solution for anyone running ozone.

The co2 media looks small and I would anticipate, would exhaust rather quickly.

Im not sure id ever use the biomedical chamber...like mentioned earlier, cleaning it would suck.

I do appreciate the innovation involved in this tho. The recirculation feature and carbon top are usually mods that have to be done afterwards. Its nice to see companies incorporating this in their designs.

I thought about running ozone in my 90, but ultimately decided against it. Also the way my sump is set up, I couldn't fit that in the sump.

I am waiting or a coworker to travel in for work to get my hands on a generator.
It seems like more work, consumables and risk for a problem only I care about though

Terrible design for a myriad of reasons. Stay away from this.

I made fun of it in their video saying it looked like a beer helmet. Anything that would make it harder to take off the lid to clean is just going to make you clean the skimmer less.

Poland accounts for 75 -85 of all coal burned by the European Union with so many households burning coal in Poland seems a logical design for that skimmer which is where Aquaforest is located. I can see a whole house air skimmer next in the works..
