Mini Frag Swap format (courtesy of @rygh) with some modifications:
- Bring one frag (we won't discourage more than one)
- Your name will be written in the order of your arrival at the mini swap location (get there early!)
- Your name will not be written on the list until you have approval of properly labeled frags by a coral checker or BOD member (look at Requirements below)
- Get your frag(s) on the table (no coral checkers, we rely on your honesty/responsibility here)
- No previewing allowed
- You have 30 seconds to pick a coral; if you don't pick one, you move to the end of the list
Requirements:
- Must be a Supporting Member (if you're not a member, become one here!)
- Frags must be housed in transparent, plastic deli containers with transparent lids (Smart & Final is the place to go)
- Frags must be properly labeled
- Your forum handle (so that you can be contacted if the new owner has questions)
- Coral type (and common/slang name, if it has one)
- Lights used
- If you need plastic deli containers and/or labels, we can provide those to you at a nominal fee of $3 each deli container and label pair
- Frags in poor condition or freshly cut will not be allowed and does not follow our mission; let's be responsible BAR members and only provide high quality corals to our fellow members
- Ineligible corals are as follows:
Tips for this event:
- Bring a flashlight (simulate as best as you can to your tank lighting)
- Familiarize yourself with the types of corals you're interested in
- Ask fellow members about corals you have questions about and share your knowledge
