Overflow Boxes

Does anyone have experience with EMS or Fuji Cube overflow Boxes? Modular Marine seems to be out of commission right now.

Trying to decide which brand to get for a 375 gallon and 50 gallon frag tank. Not sure I really need 1.5" plumbing so the EMS 32" with 1" plumbing might work for the 375. I am worried livestock might go into the slotted weir on the EMS though.

Think they switched web hosting providers or something based on their site.

I noticed that same message a while back when I was working on my tank, I think you can take it literally as it sounds they have lots of orders or for some reason are backed up (supply issues?) and they'll be up soon enough. Or you can email like Randy if you know what you want, like "I want a 36" long overflow low profile system" or whatever. As to those other companies you mentioned, sorry don't know anything about them, but I'm sure they all are similar guy with a CNC machine pops out parts, glues them, and sends them off.

I like "shadow" overflow boxes the best. Next best is Eshopps, they both are very good. The Modular marine one I have uses slip, rubber, non-glueable downspouts, would not recommend them. I also had to threaten them with contacting my credit card when I didn't receive my order or a reply to my email 6 weeks after ordering from them. Only then did they reply.

It does look like Shadow's are hard to get right now, check eBay, it looks like there are some there.

I see a bunch of complaints about synergy reef shadow overflows online. Are you referring to those or Reef Savvy?

I have an eshopps eclipse large on one frag tank. It's fine for another frag tank but they're not in stock and the acrylic bows/warps on the exterior box.

The bulkheads in the bottom of the exterior box are rubber? Like uniseal or something?

I'd have to disagree and would never recommend an eshopps overflow. Their external box design being lower than the internal weir box leads to it never be able to run completely silent.

Maybe he means you can't glue the bulkhead to the outer box? Which makes sense those bulkheads are typically PVC and that doesn't glue very well to acrylic. But I certainly could glue the PVC to the bulkhead, I didn't find an issue with it at all.

MM uses uniseals for 3/4" drains in their nano external boxes. If you don't mind a bigger external box, they can change them out to normal bulkheads.

Ah I see that explains it. I'd probably get the 1600GPH 16" and 3600GPH 36" versions
