Awesome set up!

Curious what light you have over the frags in the sump? Is alge in the sump an issue? Thinking of doing something similar.

Thanks!

I just have an AI Prime HD at the moment. I have a spare Radion xr15 G4 Pro laying around that is overkill, but why not? :) I just have to find a way to mount it because the RMS mount it too tall t fit in the sump area.

Algae doesn’t seem to be a problem. I have turbos, trochus and ceriths in the sump that do a pretty good job of keeping it clean.

As if I didn’t have enough light, I added an Orphek OR3 Blue Plus bar to the back so I could add some PAR to the acros in back without burning out the torches and gonis in front. Plus, a friend was kind enough to give it to me free, so why not? :) I had an old RMS rail in my “reef stash,” so it was pretty easy to mount on the tank. It added between 60-100 PAR in the back of the tank at mid level.

Day 136

Tank mostly doing well. Bought some speciosa a few weeks ago and they’re not doing so hot. I’m guessing they won’t be lasting as they seem to be hanging on by a thread. Iron is still a little high, but I’m not too worried about it at the moment. May do a few extra water changes if I’m in the mode.

ICP results if you’re interested.

Nice!! What's your secret for the success with the Goni's?

Unfortunately, no secret sauce I can share. I don’t do anything specific for them. Water stays pretty stable for the most part. I do a bit of broadcast feeding, but no spot feeding.

There is some rumor that gonis need an elevated level of manganese, but there no scientific proof that I’ve been able to find to back that conjecture. I’ve grown gonis fine without ever worrying about Mn, but lately, I’ve been dosing chaetogro for my chateo and that contains Mn.
